Telephone
You may dictate by telephone directly into our system simply by calling our toll-free dictation line at (800) 968-3428 from any phone, entering your account number and PIN and following the automated prompts. Begin dictating when instructed and hang up the phone when you are done. Your work will automatically be submitted to our system and immediately routed to a typist for completion.
Additionally, SpeakWrite allows you to use your telephone keypad to navigate through your dictation (below). Click here for a 'Quick Start Guide' for use in dictating by telephone.
Telephone Keypad Commands

While you are in 'Record' or 'Playback' mode, it is important to note that you must press '5' (pause) prior to using any other function.
When the '5' key has been pressed and the dictation has been placed on 'Pause', the job will submit automatically for transcription after 15 minutes of inactivity.
'Saving' Your Partially Completed Work
You may also 'save' your work for completion at a later time by pressing the '#' key during the course of your recording and following the instructions to 'save'. You will be given a job number for reference to use when you are ready to retrieve and complete or submit your audio, and you will also receive an email confirmation with your job number.
To retrieve this 'saved' job for completion, again dial into the toll-free dictation number and follow the instructions to 'retrieve an existing job'. Enter the job number of the previously saved job and continue with your dictation where you left off.
Multiple Jobs In A Single Telephone Call
If you would like to create multiple jobs in one session, without placing multiple calls to the dictation line for that purpose, just press the '#' key when you have finished dictating. Listen to the automated voice prompts - you will then be given the option of submitting that job for typing and beginning a new job.
